Beyond Gorgeous

 Hiking Day 18    April 25

Bustio to Llanes

Miles    18.1

Total miles    237.8

Ascent    1416’

Descent    1410’

Today was way beyond gorgeous; just stunning scenery. Scot and I decided not to follow the “official” Camino route which followed a lot of roads and opted instead to follow coastal paths. It turned out to be a great decision, however it did add a few miles to our day, so it was a long walk of just over 18 miles. Most of the paths were unpaved which was a wonderful break from all the pavement of the past few days.

I will spare you the majority of the details of today and just let the photos do the talking!

The weather was terrific and this was our favorite day on the Camino del Norte so far.

We joined Pete and Andrew for drinks and dinner. The specialty of this province is the hard cider, served at Sidreria bars. No dinner to be had until about 8:30 and then a 10 pm walk around town.
